Important Dates - Be sure to check the Important Dates link on this blog. I have been updating it with field trips, school events, and our upcoming testing schedule. If possible, please avoid planning appointments during our testing times. It can be difficult for the students to have to do the make up times.
Spirit Week: Student council has planned School Spirit Week, 3/28-4/1. School Spirit Days are as follows: Monday-Crazy Hair Day, Tuesday-Twin Day, Wednesday-Color Day, Thursday-Sport/College Day, and Friday-PJ/Stuffed Animal Day.
Climate Survey - You should have received a link to the School Climate Survey. Please take the time to complete this. Your feedback is valued and valuable!
Math - We have started Unit 6 in math. The students will be working with measurements using multiplication and division of decimals. The following are the outcomes for this unit:
Student Teacher Lead Teaching - Hi 5th Grade Parents,
I am Jazmin Birdsong. I have been student teaching in your child's classroom since September. Now that Spring has set in, I will have the honor of lead teaching in Mrs. Embry's classroom. Beginning the week of March 28th, I will take on greater responsibility in the classroom by planning for and teaching all course subjects (excluding specials).
Also, this week, I will send home a form requesting permission to use your child's work. I would remove any names from documents. It is for my teaching portfolio, in order to be employable upon graduation.
